Editorial Collapse // The Design Reconstitution
My approach to editorial design is to attack its structural anatomy as it exists within contemporary visual culture. Drawing from the rigid typographic hierarchies, sterile grid systems, and corporate visual mandates that dominate the field, it proposes a counter-framework that dismantles the illusion of neutrality and exposes the ideological machinery beneath.
Through my deliberate subversion of layout conventions, typographic norms, and compositional logic, my work reconstitutes editorial design as a site of rupture. Each spread i develop operates as a controlled implosion, with a recalibration of what editorial design can communicate when freed from its institutional leash.
My approach to editorial design is meant to treat design as doctrine, and by weaponizing the very tools of editorial design against their original intent, my work reveals the latent potential of the medium.
Artifacts produced include speculative magazine covers, editorial spreads, and typographic experiments that simulate the collapse of traditional design logic. They are designed to be felt as refusal to bend to that which I don’t align with.
